San Blas – Around the Caribbean by Bike, Thumb and Sail

Through the Panama Canal and into the Caribbean

After signing on as a deck hand on the 50’ ketch Fantasy we motored through the Panama Canal to Colon. After a quick refit we sailed to the pirate-era fortress of Portbello and then along the Caribbean coast to the San Blas Islands, home to the proud Cuna people, their colourful molas and independent lifestyle.
